SEPTEMBER 9TH AUDITIONS FOR
"A WINTER'S EVE"

AUDITIONS:
WHO: Students must be between 12 to 18 years of age on the day of Auditions. Dance experience is of benefit, but not required.
WHAT: Individual audition sections for the following dance forms: African/Modern, Traditional Indian, and Traditional Israeli. Students can audition for multiple disciplines.
WHEN: PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE TIMES HAVE CHANGED! Saturday, September 9th, 12:15 - 3:15pm. There will be a 15 minute check-in period, followed by a 45 minute-long audition for each discipline. Please be on time!

• Indian: 12:30pm - 1:30pm

• African/Modern: 1:15pm - 2:15pm

• Traditional Israeli: 2:00pm - 3:00

* Please register to audition with the form above by Friday, September 8th. There is no audition fee.

WHAT TO WEAR: Dancers should wear comfortable clothing that does not restrict their movement. The torso must be fully covered. Dance shoes if applicable, socks or bare feet. Hair must be pulled back and off the face.

Dancers will be notified by email within a few days if they have been cast in the show.
 

REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals will be on Saturdays at Essence Studios in Poolesville, MD, beginning September 30th, at designated times between 12:30 and 4pm. A detailed schedule per scene/dance will be provided upon casting. Dancers are allowed two (2) absences, excluding the mandatory rehearsals listed below. If a dancer misses a third rehearsal or one of the two mandatory rehearsals, they will be withdrawn from the show. There will be no refund of the performance fee, as costumes and show shirts will have already been ordered.
Mandatory Dress rehearsals:
• Essence Studios: Saturday, Dec 9th
• JCC Bender: Friday, Dec 15th

PERFORMANCES:

There will be two performances of the production on December 16th at 2pm and 6pm, at the Kreeger Theater, JCC Bender in Rockville, Maryland. Tickets for the performance will be sold online starting in November. Ticket prices will be approximately $27 per ticket.

PERFORMANCE CONTRACT:
Each dancer and parent/guardian will be required to read and sign a performance contract. The contract will be provided to the dancers once they are cast in the show. The contract must be signed and returned by the first rehearsal on Saturday, September 30. The contract will provide more details on rehearsal and performance requirements. Review the contract here.

PERFORMANCE FEE:
There is a performance fee of $165 per dancer. The performance fee is due by Saturday, September 30. Instructions will be provided for payment. This fee funds costumes, rehearsal space, and theater rental. All participants receive a show t-shirt and professionally produced DVD.

SSL HOURS: Performers & volunteers can receive SSL hrs for rehearsal time and performances. Participants must request these hours before the performance. A signed form listing the hours will be provided.
